Task Description: This term in extension we have been learning all about kindness. For this project we had to think of a story to create that has kindness in it. Like for example you created a story of someone being mean to his friend then suddenly becomes kind, just like my story. For this project I choose to do a bear and her name was Bella she was pretty much the main character of the story because she was mean, and on the other hand there was her friend Helean which was a really generous and kind to people around her. In this story Helean helps Bella become more kind to people because when she starts to grow up people her age would not want to be friends with her. Task Description: This week for response to text we had to read a book called dawn parade. In this book it explains that we have to thank all of the people who took part in the war and we have to always show respect to them for doing that. → It symbolises the whole book because it says dawn parade and I also think that because the book starts in the night and ends in the morning.
Besides the information in the story, what can you infer about Dad’s character?
→ He always wants to go to the dawn parade to say thank you to all of the people who took part in the war.
Why do you think dawn parades are important?
→ I think dawn parades are important because we need to thank those who died in the war just for us.
A-Z Research)Extension
Task Description: This term in extension we have been doing a task called A-Z research presentation, if you are wondering what this means it is like a presentation and on every slide there are all of the 26 letters and you would had to put one letter on each slide. Then when you’re done doing that you would have to choose something you would like to research about with one that letter, like for example for A I did astronaut and for B I did bear. After choosing what you would like to research about you would have to write things you found out about it or you could write very interesting facts like I did. As I was doing this task it was really easy but as I found out that the term was about to end I started it get nervous because I thought I wasn’t going to finish this but at the end I was really proud of myself and I hope my family and you all are as well enjoy my A-Z presentation. Story reflection
Task Description: This week for reading we had to read a book and that was called fresh. In this book it was just talking about this one family going to the beach and there daughter lets call her Emily, and Emily gets very mad at beach just because of one little family she thinks that family should leave just because they are being to loud but that were just playing some sports. Like who else would play sports or blase music at the beach because I would. For our reading task we had to do a story reflection which is where my teacher miss Parrant writes me some questions from my book, and I have to try answer them. Malo e lelei my name is Catherine and I am ten years old and a year six student in room seven at Pt England school. My teacher for this year is Miss Parrant. In my family I have two brothers Vaha, and Keni. With one sister Finau and my Mum and Dad. My favourite colour is obviously baby blue and my second favourite colour is all kinds of green. My hobbies I enjoy doing are playing sports like netball, rugby, and cricket. The subjects I also enjoy doing in school are reading and maths because in reading I am pretty good at reading hard and difficult words sometimes.
