Five Facts)Tokelau Language Week

Task Description: This week in room 10 we have been learning all about Tokelau language week. For this task we had to first watch a video that had interesting facts in it. Then we had to start trying to find some facts to add into our five facts. After that we had to re read our facts to see if we left any mistakes. Finally we had to send Miss Parrant our task so that she can see if we copied anyone or copied from her. Remember to leave a positive comment on my blog, thank you. 

Immersion Assembly Recount

This morning at Pt England school we had an immersion assembly. For the first day of every term we always have to do an assembly to explain what we will be learning about this term. When it hit 8:50 we had to head to the hall to start our assembly. Then when we sat down to start, Mr Burt asked Mr J why was the sealing on the stage linking into a 300 kilo tank. Before Mr J was going to answer, that’s when Mrs Nua and the whole entire senior management team came to the front to try to figure out how they could make the linking stop. Mr Somerville suggested if he could use a massive as well as long straw to try suck out all of the water to the back drain outside of where room 19 is. When Mr Somerville was finished putting it into the drain Mrs Nua saw that only a little bit of water was fading away so that’s when Mrs Nua was very crossed because she wanted to start out Immersion Assembly. After that some of the water was gone but then the linking finally stopped, but there was still water inside of the tank. Next Mr Burt wanted to try out his 45 dollar pump to try to pump all the water out, when Mr Burt did that the water was actually working and the water was draining outside but very slowly. That’s when our immersion assembly finally got to begin. 

 

For our first team to share was team 1 for team 1’s show it was a movie and it started when a little dog named Max was lost so Mrs Sherry wanted some help and who did she call, she called we can do it. When she called them Mrs Sherry was saying that Max keeps on walking away to their Neighbours house in the morning or afternoon. Finally when Mrs Sherry was done talking the we can do it crew was trying to figure out what Max needed to stay put and have fun just not to fun. At last the we can do it team thought of a great idea to make a little black gates to surround  Max to still and have fun with his other friends.

 

Next up was team 2 for team 2’s performance which was all about working all together as a team to make their bay more fun inspiring for the team 2 kids to have fun for the rest of the term. While I was watching team 2’s movie I was thinking that they had the best idea because the team 2 kids will definitely work as a team to try to make their outdoors more fun. Because I know team 2 they love to design things for them and for  the next team 2’s that are going to be next year.

 

After team 2 was team 3, for team 3’s performance they wanted to present a show for all of us to watch. For their performance they wanted to show that if you get changed into a different location or even a dimension you had to try survive all by yourself. While I was watching the team three’s teachers I started to get confused but I finally I got to understand that Mrs Moala was helping miss Scanlan try figure out how she could survive in a different dimension for a whole day, which was really funny to watch because miss Scanlan actually survived a whole day without technology a house and even clean fresh clothes.

 

Then next was team 4 which I am in. For team 4’s performance we wanted to make a movie explaining what we need to change in our team 4 bay. When we were watching this movie I saw that we needed to empathise,define,ideate,prototype, and even test. In the movie it was explaining what we need to change our team for our team 4 bay like, we need bag hooks to hang our bags and we need a sports bucket to put all of our sports gear into.  While I was watching this short film I thought of ideas of what we could put into our bay to make it more fun and playful for team 4 to play in.

 

At last was team 5, for team 5’s performance they wanted to perform a show to show what they need to change in team 5. In team 5’s performance I saw that team 5 needed a shoe rack to keep their stinky shoes away from the teachers. They also needed to keep team 5 more clean and smell nice just like team 4. While we were watching team 5’s performance they were singing a song for our whole Pt England school to sing and it went like ”Pt England” CAN WE FIX IT!!! ”Pt England” YES WE CAN!! Then Mr Wismen started to tell us what problems the team 5 teachers in a singing rhythm.

Task Description: This week for my second writing task for word of the week, we had to try to answer some questions all about technology. For this task we had to finish our word of the week task. Then we had to start on our word of the week create task. While we were doing this task my favourite part was the last one where I had to try to find 3 to 5 words in the technology. Task Description: This week in room 10 for writing we have been doing word of the week. For this task we had to get a word for the whole week, and for this week’s word we have technology. When I found out we were going to be using this word I was starting to get excited because I know that everybody uses technology at school and home. Five Facts) Uike Lea Faka-Tonga

Task Description: This week in room 10 we have been learning all about Tongan language. For this task we usually call it four facts but for this week we are doing five facts, maybe not that hard. The first thing we had to do was to watch a video that was explaining all about Tonga or interesting facts about Tonga. While I was watching the video half way I was wanting to watch my own video so here is the video I watched – ”Tongan Tips . ”How Tonga got it’s name”

Once upon a time there was a young man named Maui, who was a pasifika superhero that loved to travel all around the islands. One day Maui travelled to Manu’a Samoa to discover islands around him. Until Maui found an elderly man called Tonga selling hooks for people to use. When Maui went over to see, Maui asked if he had any strong hooks to use, but the man showed Maui his massive  collection of hooks. While the man was explaining what his hooks were called, Maui walked to another hook that had sketches,spider webs, nicks with even dead leaves. After Maui took his hook Maui said to the elder man that if Maui finds an island he will call it Tonga, so he went to sail along the ocean. Then stopped and started to throw his hook into the ocean and felt something heavy and couldn’t bring it back up, Maui thought that it could maybe be an octopus but even bigger it wasn’t a whale it was even bigger. That’s when an island came up and Maui looked at it and remembered that Maui promised that he will call the island, ‘’Tonga’’.

Spelling T3W5

Task Description: This week for spelling me and jordyn thought that this task was not easy but fun to do. While we were doing this task my favourite word was kumara because it is yummy to eat with our family. When I finally finished this task with jordyn we were very happy that we finished as a team. Setting smart goals

Task Description: This week for writing in room 10 we have been learning how to set a smart goal for us to achieve. For this task we had to think of three goals that we want to achieve and three were academic,fitness,and any other goals that we want to get better at. Then we had to start trying to achieve. Four Facts/Cook Islands

Task Description: This week in room 10 we are going to be learning all about the ”cook islands”. For this task we had to first watch a video of a man telling us interesting facts about the cook islands. Then we had to start trying to write what we have leant and what kind of facts we thought was interesting and great for other people around the world could see. ”There was once a box”

Last week on a saturday morning I woke up at around 6am and then began to walk down the hallway to eat my yummy breakfast. For breakfast my siblings and I ate eggs with juicy buttery toast. Next I went to brush my teeth and wash my face. Then I went to get changed until I heard a massive knock on the door. ‘’BANG BANG!!’’. After about 2 minutes later I then found out that my siblings and I were home alone because we forgot that our parents were gone shopping for some groceries. While I was walking past the white doors though the hallway, I suddenly felt a massive cold breeze hit me. That’s when I started to become very nervous. As I then open the squeaky white door, I then see a light brown box sitting all alone on the dusty floor, saying ‘’Catherine open this’’. When I found out it said my name on it, it made me a bit suspicious about that package. Eventually I walked to the living room and opened the box and saw a recording saying ‘’listen to this, ‘’Hey sisters!!
